Our May “First Sunday” collection recipient will be Faith & Grace Garden.
Completely volunteer-led, the Faith & Grace Garden is a “food pantry garden,” donating all harvested fresh vegetables and fruit to food distribution sites in the Metro to feed hungry people. Even with the devastating hailstorm of last August, they finished the year donating a total of 8.5 tons of fruits and vegetables. Located in the “backyard” of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church and sharing some space with Covenant Presbyterian, the garden has grown year after year. During winter/spring 2023, space doubled to two full acres. Donations from DMIEC will help install a rabbit-proof fence to enclose the expanded garden space. Volunteers always welcome, no experience necessary. For more information,

CHECKS SHOULD BE MAILED TO:
DMIEC, P.O. Box 30065, Des Moines, IA 50310
Checks can be written either to “St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church” with “Faith & Grace Garden” in the memo line, or to “DMIEC” with “First Sunday” in the memo line.
We would prefer that all checks be mailed to DMIEC. If you mail your check directly to the organization, please inform Ed Arnold of the amount, if you feel comfortable, so the Social Justice Committee can get an accurate count of donations.
