FOURTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME — Year C

First Reading: Isaiah 66: 10-14

A reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah.

Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad because of her,
all you who love her,

Exult, exult with her,

all you who were mourning over her!

Oh that you may suck fully

of the milk of her comfort,
That you may nurse with delight
at her abundant breasts:

For this says Yahweh:

Lo, I will spread prosperity over her like a river,

and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing torrent.

As nurslings, you shall be carried in her arms,
and fondled in her lap;

As a mother comforts her child,
so will I comfort you;

in Jerusalem you shall find your comfort.

When you see this, your heart shall rejoice,
and your bodies flourish like the grass;

The power of Yahweh shall be known to those who serve Yahweh,
but to the enemies, the wrath.

The Word of God recorded in the book of the prophet Isaiah.

FOURTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME — Year C

Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 66

R: Let the earth cry out to God with joy.

Make a joyful sound to God, all the earth!

Sing the glory of God’s Name;

Give glorious praise!

Say to God, “How terrible are Your deeds.”

R: Let the earth cry out to God with joy.

All the earth worships You

and sings praise to You, sings praise to Your Name.

Come and see what God has done:

tremendous are God’s deeds.

R: Let the earth cry out to God with joy.

God turned the sea into dry land;

people passed through the river on foot

There did we rejoice in God

who rules with might forever.

R: Let the earth cry out to God with joy.

Come and hear, all You who fear God,

and I will tell what the Holy One has done for me.

Blessed be God, who has not rejected my prayer

or removed steadfast love from me!

R: Let the earth cry out to God with joy.
