Thirty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time Year B First Reading and Responsorial Psalm

THIRTY-FIRST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME — Year B

First Reading: Deuteronomy 6:2-6

A reading from the book of Deuteronomy.

Moses said to the people: “If you and your children and your grandchildren revere the Most High, Your God, all the days of your life, and if you keep the laws and commandments which I lay on you, you will have a long life. Listen then, Israel, and carefully observe what will make you prosper and give you great increase, as the Most High, the God of your ancestors has promised you, giving you a land where milk and honey flow.

“Listen Israel: The Most High God is the only God.  You will love the Most High God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.  Let these words which I command you today be written on your heart.”

The Word of God recorded in the book of Deuteronomy.

THIRTY-FIRST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME — Year B

Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 18

R:  I love You, O God, my strength.

I love You, O God, my strength.

You are my rock, my fortress,

and my deliverer.

R: I love You, O God, my strength.

My God, my rock in whom I take refuge,

My shield, and the horn of my salvation,

my stronghold.

I call upon You, who are worthy to be praised,

and I am saved from my enemies.

R: I love You, O God, my strength.

Our God lives, and blessed be my rock,

and exalted be the God of my salvation.

Great triumph You give to Your leader

and show steadfast love to Your anointed.

R: I love You, O God, my strength.
